1.What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Similar technologies include browser local storage and session storage. They can remember a basket, keep an account signed in, protect a payment, or measure how a website is used.

2.Our current approach

Learn Dutch At Last uses cookies and similar technology required to operate accounts, course access, the basket, checkout, security and payment. Embedded YouTube course videos are optional external media. They remain blocked until you consent. We do not currently use Google Analytics, advertising pixels or embedded Instagram content.

Necessary cookies are active without consent because the requested website features cannot work without them. The consent banner lets you accept or decline YouTube and external-media cookies separately and change that choice later.

WordPress or WooCommerce may use additional short-lived functional cookies during login, password reset, checkout or account administration. Their purpose is security or delivery of a feature you requested.

4.YouTube and external media

Some course lessons contain embedded YouTube videos. Complianz blocks the YouTube connection until you accept the “YouTube and external media” category. If you accept, your browser connects to Google/YouTube and they may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser details, the page and video requested, and interaction information. YouTube may use cookies or similar identifiers whose names and duration can change.

You can decline this category and continue using the rest of the website, although embedded videos will not play. See Google’s Privacy Policy for information about its processing.

5.Stripe payment and fraud-prevention technology

Stripe.js is loaded during payment. Stripe uses identifiers and browser storage to process payments, authenticate optional Link features, and distinguish legitimate customers from fraudulent activity. These may include:

6.Managing cookies

Use “Manage preferences” in the consent banner or the persistent “Cookie settings” control to accept, decline or withdraw consent for YouTube. You can also delete or block cookies using your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent login, basket, course and payment features from working.

The Instagram address on our Contact page is an ordinary external link, not an embedded feed or tracking pixel. Learn Dutch At Last does not send data to Instagram merely because you view the Contact page. If you follow the link, Instagram will process that visit under its own privacy and cookie terms.

If we later introduce analytics, advertising or other content that requires consent, it will be disabled by default until the consent choices and this policy have been updated.
